So fall is BY FAR my favorite season. Waking up to a crisp, cool morning and having to wear a sweater and boots are just perfection to me. I love bonfires, hoodies, pants, boots, chunky sweaters, dark lipstick, etc. I just have way more fall appropriate clothes as compared to summer. I thought I would share some of my must haves for fall with you and I would love to know what your must haves are so leave them in the comments. 🙂
I got most of my fall/winter clothing last year from H&M just because I think they have great items for very affordable prices. This is the store (for the most part) that I have linked to show you examples of what I’m talking about.
I love wearing big, chunky sweaters to work or church or wherever. They are so comfortable and you just throw on some black pants (or jeans) and you’re good to go. Who doesn’t love cuddling up in a big sweater? They are most definitely work appropriate and something you can dress up easily. They are just the perfect clothing piece for fall in my opinion. I also love layering cardigans over a button down shirt or a short-sleeved shirt. That is one great way to transition summer clothes into winter; you can still wear light and cool shirts, but pair something warm over top and you are able to get use out of your summer clothes and make endless combinations.
Fall is all about the riding boots for most people. Last year I got some tall cognac colored riding boots and I wore those things to death. I absolutely adore them and just want to wear them all the time. I also have several pairs of boots that are similar to UGGS (but came from Wal-Mart) in a variety of colors. Then I have my short kind of motorcycle boots and some short dressy boots. I am basically saying that I’m covered in the boot department. Any type of look I want to go for, I’ve got something that fits my style.
Obviously I dress up a wee bit for work so hoodies or sweatshirts don’t usually make the cut, but on weekends or at night when I’m home I love to just throw one on. The weather being cool (not cold) enough for me to need a hoodie or sweatshirt is perfect weather to me. I love sitting around at night around a bonfire or something and just chillin’ in my comfy hoodie. I’d say you guys probably know exactly what I mean too!
I linked sweatshirts from Victoria’s Secret because those are my faves! & I linked hoodies from Hollister & Abercrombie.
I am not a totally obsessed scarf person, but I do love me some scarves every now & then. My favorite are the infinity scarves as I just like the style and the look it gives. I have thin, sheer, colorful scarves that I will sometimes pair with a plain short-sleeved shirt in the summertime, but I have my big, warm scarves that I wear in the fall. Putting a scarf over a sweater just looks so chic and I’m sure you all agree. A cute scarf can make a terrible outfit look amazing. I have tons of them and I actually need to start wearing them more this season.
Don’t get me wrong, I love wearing shorts & skirts as much as the next girl, but pants are my thing. As I mentioned in my “Staple Clothing Item” post, I am beyond obsessed with black pants. I do not feel like you could ever have too many pairs of black pants. I would probably wear them everyday if it didn’t look like I was wearing the same pants over & over. 😉 They just go with EVERYTHING and you can wear them casually or dressed up. You could do literally any type of look you wanted with a pair of black pants, just depends on your own personal style. I also love just throwing on a pair of jeans with a hoodie or sweatshirt and going out at night. I practically live in sweatpants at home during the cooler months. I have like 10 pairs probably and they are on repeat all fall (& winter). They are just so comfortable and feel great when it’s cool outside.
Skirts with Leggings:
I have never been one to wear skirts anywhere but church until earlier this year. I find myself buying different colored skirts and different styles every time I go shopping. A good skirt is something worth having for sure. I love wearing them in the summer with a nice colorful shirt, but I really love wearing them in the fall & wintertime with a pair of leggings underneath. Skirts just automatically dress up any type of outfit and they are beyond comfortable and easy to wear. Pairing them with leggings and a sweater on a cold day just makes for a perfect outfit combo.
