Skincare 101: Eye Creams

This step is basically using moisturizer for your eyes. This one is soooo important too! If you find a good eye cream you can combat aging, puffiness, dark circles, fine lines, etc. I’ve tried a few tons of different eye creams and never really found that one that kept making me repurchase it over & over. Please let me know if you have an eye cream like that! There are so many different brands and price ranges, but you need to find one that is targeted specifically towards what you want to prevent (or fix).

I personally have really dark circles so I need an eye cream that will help to fix that problem. I also like to use an eye cream that has anti-aging properties as well. I’m only 24, but in my opinion, it’s never too early to start trying to prevent fine lines & wrinkles around your eyes. You’ll never fully prevent it, but if you can keep it away for as long as possible you are doing well.

I’ve come to find that paying a little more for a good skincare routine will save you money in the long run. As I mentioned in my first post, if you start taking good care of your skin you won’t have to worry as much about applying makeup (which if you’re like me will definitely save you money). Eye creams that I’ve heard people rave about are soooo expensive! It’s nothing for a little jar to cost $50-70! Yikes! But if the results are there then it would be worth it (to me at least).

For dark circles you need to find eye creams with “niacinamide, vitamin B3, or kojic acid” to help lighten those circles.

For puffiness people like to refrigerate their eye creams because the cold temperature will help to treat them.

For anti-aging you should find eye creams with “retinol, vitamin C, or peptides in them because they will help to boost your collagen” (which is what helps keep your skin firm). “Ceramide and hyaluronic acid” also help with the fine lines & wrinkles too.

I’m not sure how many of you feel like eye creams are worth the hassle, but they truly are. It takes no time at all to pat some cream under your eyes and call it a day. Like I said, if you can combat your problems why wouldn’t you just do it?!
